High-Precision BIM Façade Modeling

Acıbadem Kent Hospital Block D

Client: Acıbadem Project Management.

  • LOD 500 ready for fabrication BIM model
  • 200+ custom curtain wall panel families created
  • 20,000 m² hospital façade coordination completed

Delivered a ready for fabrication LOD 500 BIM façade model for Acıbadem Kent Hospital Block A, covering modular panel systems, ceramic cladding, and waterproofing coordination. The project included 200+ custom Revit families, advanced façade detailing, and Dynamo-driven optimization for precise ceramic joint alignment and installation accuracy.

1. Project Overview

Delivered a manufacturing LOD 500 model for a 7-story hospital façade, covering.

3 distinct façade systems with 4 aluminum profile types.

200+ custom Revit families for curtain wall panels, sunshades and ceramic cladding.

Embedded critical details: sealant paths, thermal breaks and ceramic joint patterns.

2. Technical Execution

a) Modular Façade Detailing

Panel Systems: Modeled prefabricated aluminum panels with integrated silicone sealant channels and thermal gaskets (per manufacturer specs).

Ceramic Tile Cladding: Scaled joint patterns digitally mapped to Revit surfaces for aesthetic consistency.

Sunshade Integration: Glass louvres with anodized aluminum brackets, designed for tool free field adjustment (5mm tolerance).

b) Waterproofing & Interfaces

Critical Details Modeled: Zinf-flashed sill details.

Compression seales between creamic tiles and aluminum substructure.

Silicone joint profiles at panel-to-panel junctions (6mm nominal width).

c)Fabrication & QA Support

Ceramic tile layout diagrams with joint spacing annotations.

Sealant application specs (Dow Corning 795 vs. Sikaflex-221).

Exploded views of aluminum profile connections (M6 stainless hardware callouts).

3. Challenges & Solutions

  • Challenge: Aligning ceramic tile joints with irreguşar panel edges.
Solution: Dynamo script to adjusts automatically tile courses based on panel perimeter.

  • Challenge: Preventing water infiltration at silicone-to-ceramic interfaces.
Solution: Modeled 3D sealant grooves in aluminum profiles for positive drainage.
