The main purpose is to make BIM information usable for a defined decision, such as coordination, tendering, fabrication, specification, installation or handover.
When should a contractor start BIM work? BIM should start before installation decisions are locked. The earlier the team defines scope, coordinates interfaces and checks clashes, the less expensive the changes usually are.
Does a contractor always need LOD 400? No. LOD 400 is useful when fabrication or installation decisions depend on model accuracy. Some coordination tasks can be handled with lower LOD if responsibilities are clear.
How can B4C help? B4C helps contractors and manufacturers define a practical BIM scope, prepare tailored models, create BIM objects, coordinate interfaces and deliver usable outputs.
